I love fashion, accessories, makeup, spas, hair stylists, travel, and all the current "must haves"... but some people cannot afford to have one or more..
My thoughts for this discussion are: can you offer a suggestion for possible substitutes or ways to save while looking and or having what we would like..
Well i would advise not to folow trends that go out of fashion in few months, i usualy try to buy timeless peaces of clothing i also like to have a lot of eccessories and with them change my look it is also a good idea to make notes of that you have in your waredrobe so you woud not buy things that are simmilar to what you alredy have and make notes on what you want to add to your wardrobe. Another tip is to buy things that you absolutly love and can see your self wearing for a long time without finding the outfit borring.
I think everybody should make his own priorities. A lot of people can not have all of that, but we have to decide what is more important for us. If you like traveling then you can save some money on hairstyle and do it by yourself, and so on.
I absolutely agree with Lilly that it is better not to buy clothes that go out of fashion in few months. I try to buy clothes more seldom but it should be of high quality and universal, so I can wear it another season as well.
There is one great quote: "Fashion is buying, style is being"
So, I think that fashion is not so important, and it's better not to run after current "must haves", but spend your money on things that are really matter to you.
To start, as obvious as it is, if you can't afford them all, you definitely cannot have them all? I'm sure we agree on this. Budgeting. In order to accommodate our budget we must prioritize, as Oksana mentioned.
Now, in order to prioritize and STILL be able to do all the things on your list, you need a solution. Find deals. Our world is filled with deals, sales, coupons, coupon codes, etc. For example, join a community such as Fat Wallet and notice what they have to offer. This can largely help you with the "shopping" part of your list of things you want. You will save money. You will then use that money to fund other expenses on your list. Another tip for shopping is maybe organize a small group of ladies and buy small lots of wholesale clothing and shoes. When doing this you can get extremely low prices as you split the lots price and the items in it between you and the girls you decided upon. If you don't have any girls to split with you... you can even make a profit by selling remainders on online websites such as eBay.
On to Travel. Not sure if you already do this or not, but before you book your travel deals, search around for the best deals. PriceLine is very helpful with helping you attain these deals and if you want to go beyond that, use other travel sites such as Expedia, Hotel.com, etc.
As for the SPAs, have mother buy you a gift card on your birthday! ;-)
Thanks Michelle! Really Nice tips! And I want to add one more - www.rehashclothes.com - here you can exchange clothes, really interesting idea, so you can try;)
