Can true love be found online?

I have a friend who has been trying to find her true love online for about 3 years. She did find it. 2 times. She went out with the guys, they had great relationships, the guys flew in a couple of times to visit her, she travelled to their place, but it all did not work out in the end. They both were long distance relationships... Maybe if they lived in the same city things would have worked out...

Now she is happily married to a man she met accidently in real life. She moved to his fab apartment on Mormartre, Paris, it's been 4 years now and they are still on the seventh heaven :)

I agree. Many people use the chatrooms to escape reality and be someone that theyre not. It's really hard to trust. But for some people, this works out. Im not sure how they do it. =)

I think for some, true love can be found online. If the person is lucky enough to find someone who is genuine, that's a great thing. Anonymity of being online might allow a person to be their true selves. That's a good thing.

Yes, Malaris, I absolutely agree with you that anonymity allows people to be their true selves. When a person doesn't know you you can show a "real you", especially when this person doesn't see you. I've even noticed that some of my friends are different when they communicate with me through IM or some other online ways. In real life they can be really shy...

I'm going to meet one online friend soon:) We met on the facebook and he is going to visit my city soon. But it's not a romantic date:) After few dates from online dating I decided stop the online romance:) lol But friendship sounds good for me:)
