I often look at organic food..I purchase cleansers for veggies sometimes but don't seem to have enough time to do all of this..
I agree w/ buying in season..being in a four season environment leaves us at the mercy of the supermarket..
Our summers are filled w/ veggies and fruit bc we live in a fruit belt and have local farmers...I still try to wash them..
I am interested in becoming a vegan...but don't think it will agree w/ my family..
hi there Helen...hve to confess....I do buy organic yogurt at Wegmans..use rice cheese or soy cheese when in the mood..but love the real stuff...try to stay away from red meat ..ie: at Boca Burger..but to cook for my family...it is difficult..especially the husband unless they eat a lot of pasta dishes..but it can be tasty in the summer when so many veggies are plentiful..I love to make my own tomatoe sauces and ..hubby makes a great eggplant parm..
I can understand you Bobbie:) I'm trying to eat healthy foods, but when I visit my relatives - omg! it's impossible to eat healthy there... our traditional cuisine is not really healthy, but people think that it's good for them to eat like that. And when you choose the healthy foods, most of people think that you are a bit crazy...
oh how I know this.my mums Roast Beef w/ the potatoes browned in the oil used...w/ Yorkshire Pudding and luscious gravy and a homemade pie..NO wonder i was a fat child..haha
I think I can but cooking takes so much time... I can cook something special not very often, usually I eat something that doesn't need much time to cook:)
